Terms of Service —
the rules of the road, kept short.

These terms govern your use of Career Sentinel, a product of Sentinel Media Inc. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them. Read the Privacy Policy too — it covers your data specifically.

Effective July 23, 2026 Informational, not advice Cancel anytime

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Career Sentinel, and if you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission. By using the Service you confirm you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us right away at wade@sentinelmedia.co if you suspect unauthorized access. You can delete your account at any time — see how to delete your account.

The AI-exposure score is information, not a verdict

This is the most important thing in these terms: your Career Sentinel AI-exposure score is a deterministic estimate computed from public, peer-reviewed labor research (see our Methodology). It is not a guarantee, not a prediction, and not professional, financial, career, or legal advice. It does not know your employer's specific plans, and it does not promise you will or won't lose your job, get a raise, or land any particular role. Use it as one input among many when making career decisions — not the whole decision.

Subscriptions & billing

Paid plans are auto-renewing subscriptions that renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.

  • On the web, billing is handled by Stripe. Cancel anytime from your account settings; cancellation stops future renewals but does not refund the current period unless stated otherwise below.
  • In the app, your subscription is billed and managed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play). Manage or cancel it through your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings — we cannot cancel an in-app purchase for you.

Refunds

In-app purchases are refunded solely at Apple's or Google's discretion, under their own refund policies — request those directly through the App Store or Google Play. For web purchases via Stripe, we don't offer partial refunds for time already used in a billing period, but we review cancellation and billing-error requests case by case — email wade@sentinelmedia.co.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to harass, defraud, or impersonate anyone.
  • Attempt to access another user's account or data, or probe, scan, or interfere with the Service's security.
  • Scrape, resell, or redistribute Career Sentinel's content, scores, or course material without our written permission.
  • Upload malicious code or attempt to disrupt the Service for other users.

Intellectual property

The Career Sentinel name, logo, scoring methodology, course content, and site design are owned by Sentinel Media Inc. and protected by copyright and trademark law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the Service for your own career development — not to republish or commercialize it. You retain ownership of the information you enter (your task weights, diagnostic answers, notes, etc.); you grant us a license to use it solely to operate and improve the Service for you.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any job listing, course claim, or score will be perfectly accurate — job listings come from third-party aggregators we don't control, and the score is an estimate (see above).

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sentinel Media Inc. and its officers, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of income, opportunity, or employment, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose (or $50 if you haven't paid us anything).

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (see Delete Your Account). We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, engage in fraud or abuse, or if required by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (like intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll update the effective date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
